Millison Technology specialises converting existing Plated Through Hole (PTH) boards to Surface Mount Technology (SMT).

Millison Technology has developed robust techniques and procedures to convert PTH boards to SMT. We see this process as a core competency within our business.

The product conversion process is handled by a team of people covering all aspects of the project including:

bullet CAD designers
bullet production engineers
bullet procurement officers

Layout of the PCB is critical in the conversion process. Where possible, the conversion is to the IPC international standards such as:

bulletIPC-2220 Design Standards for Printed Boards
bulletIPC-SM-782A Surface Mount Design Standard and Land Pattern Standard

This has proven to result in the highest degree of 'design for manufacture' and 'lowest cost of ownership' being achieved for the newly SMT converted product.
