Yamaha Pick and Place Machines:

 | Three SMT lines consisting of 9 Yamaha Pick and Place Machines:
 | Three full vision chip YV series Yamaha chip shooters (8 heads). |
 | Two Yamaha multiple pick / place chip shooters (3 heads), limited to chip components. |
 | Yamaha full vision IC mounter, suitable for all component sizes,
including tray changer. |
 | Yamaha versatile IC mounter, suitable for all component sizes. |
 | Yamaha versatile pick / place machine, up to SO-28. |
|
 | Peak placement rates of around 20000 components per hour (optimised). |
 | Utilises fast changeover techniques to permit smaller lot sizes and
improved responsiveness. |
 | Management Information Systems (MIS) for improves quality feedback. |
 | Capable of standard, fine pitch, chip scale and ball grid array
placements. |
 | Low setup and changeover costs. |
 | Large investment in of wide feeders (12mm, 16mm, 24mm, 44mm, 56mm and
Tube)
allowing supply of IC’s etc. on tape and reel. |
The YV88X
is a versatile full vision placement machine. It can place the full spectrum of
components from 0201 through to IC’s that are 54mm x 54mm.
It is used
for the placement of IC’s including fine pitch, BGA’s etc. with full bump vision
recognition for BGA parts.
It is also
versatile enough to take smaller components and provide some load balancing from
the prior machines if needed.

This
tray supply unit uses direct parts extraction that meets JEDEC standards. The W-ATS
has a non-stop function in which one tray can be replaced while the other is in
use. This reduces components restocking loss.
Programming Software:
The addition of the new generation X Series Yamaha placement machines has
generated the requirement to significantly update our line programming software.
After looking at several options, we chose the Tecnomatics Assembly Expert
software.
This software allows us to take a customers CAD file, and generate our Pick
and Place machine programming including line balancing and optimisation.
Some of the benefits provided are:
 | Multi Vendor Machine/Series Support. |
 | Line Optimisation and Balancing. |
 | Multi vendor CAD Import (currently we have Protel and mentor
Expedition). |
 | Faster conversion / tooling times. |
Essemtec Pick and Place:

 | Prototyping / Small volumes. |
 | Minimal setup / tooling. |
 | Accurate (including fine pitch). |
 | Fast ‘hand assembly’ method. |
 | Solder paste dispensing. |
